Trolly ("we", "us", "our") is operated by NextWave. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Trolly mobile app and website (the "Service") collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We comply with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account details - if you create an account, your email address and authentication details, managed securely through Google Firebase Authentication.
- Shopping lists & preferences - the items you save, your selected stores, and similar in-app settings.
- Contact messages - anything you send us by email for support.
Information collected automatically
- Usage & device data - basic, non-identifying information such as app version, device type, and crash diagnostics, used to keep the app working.
Trolly does not collect payment details. We do not sell your personal information.
2. How we use your information
- To provide and operate the Service (e.g. sync your account and shopping lists).
- To improve features, fix bugs, and maintain reliability and security.
- To respond to your support requests.
3. Grocery price data
Prices shown in Trolly are gathered from publicly available supermarket sources and are provided for general comparison only. They may not always be current or accurate; always confirm the price in-store. Trolly is an independent service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any supermarket or retailer.
4. How we share information
We share information only with service providers that help us run the Service, including:
- Google Firebase (authentication and data sync) - see Google's Privacy Policy.
- Cloud hosting providers that store our data securely.
We may also disclose information if required by law.
5. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time (see below).
6. Your rights & deleting your data
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information. To request account and data deletion, visit our Delete Account page or email us. We will action verified requests within a reasonable time.
7. Children
Trolly is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
